SHILO BOOK LAUNCH! JUNE! NYC!

About three months ago Death of the Party produced an event in NYC for a company called Shilo Design to celebrate the release of their new book. The book compiles stills from their emmy award winning design and motion graphic work as well as three short creative pieces that are meant to reflect the research that goes into some of their commercial pieces.

Being that Shilo is at the absolute forefront of their industry and have built a reputation for creating pieces that consistently blow their competitors out of the water it is essential that they are constantly honing their skill. Part of this process is "research". Constantly creating pieces and toying with techniques in order to implement or incorporate them in to future jobs. A lot of these pieces sit peacefuly on a shelf collecting dust.

This book, titled "Shilo: We Make It Good" will give light to some of this exceptional creative work and will also feature interviews with the head designers and producers from Shilo. A very interesting and impressive look into one of the most respected companies in the design industry.

You can buy it HERE.

Death of the Party was commisioned to design and conceptualize an event celebrating the release of this book, Shilo: We Make It Good.

We carefully selected and negotiated a venue that could easily be taken over and made completely our own. The Gallery Bar, in Manhattan's Lower East Side provided such a space. With its minimal design, stark white walls and multi-level layout we were able to create an event that would be singularly focused on Shilo while at the same time tastefully utilizing the Gallery Bar's atmosphere and aesthetic. Pages from the book were blown up into large prints and hung from the walls throughout, video clips from the movie were projected on two walls and a stage was built to feature performances from Spankrock, Amanda Blank, Nick Catchdubs, and DJ Eleven.

With over four hundred people in attendance and a line down the block, the party was a resounding success.
